Adventure Technician

  • High Trek Adventures in Paine Field Community Park is currently seeking applicants for the position of Adventure Techs. These positions require outgoing, adventurous, and safety conscious individuals. Adventure Techs are responsible for communicating with and overseeing guests during their experience at High Trek Adventures. Adventure Techs ensure an unforgettable and safe adventure. They will go above and beyond to encourage and inspire customers to overcome challenges. Adventure Techs enjoy helping people, love the outdoors and the thrill of working with a team.

    Starting wage $14 - $15/hr starting wage
    Job type: Full time/Part time
    Position: Adventure Technicians
    This covers the business of High Ropes course and Laser Tag

    Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
  • Fit helmets and harnesses for guests and familiarize them to the safety equipment they will be using during their experience
  • Conduct safety demonstrations and training sessions for guests and consistently assess the needs of each guest while in the course
  • Setting up the Laser Tag field for play
  • Use of Point Of Sale system
  • Checking in customers and providing a positive interactions
  • Engage and build a relationship with guests while on the course
  • Supervise the use of all equipment
  • Provide and document thorough daily inspections of equipment, and opening and closing duties of the High Trek Adventures site
  • Operating the zipline activity including performing assists, retrievals and rescues as needed
  • Operate Laser Tag games with gaming software
  • Attend required trainings and meetings
  • Promote a safe and enjoyable attitude at all times with guests and staff to ensure a positive lifelong memory
  • Assist in grounds and course maintenance as needed
  • Complying with and enforcing the policies, procedures, and regulations of High Trek Adventures
  • Assist with any other duties that may be assigned

  • Qualifications for preferred candidates:
  • College students are encouraged to apply
  • 18 years of age or older for certified positions
  • Teens ages 16-17 eligible for some positions.
  • Ability to engage with guests of all ages in individual and group settings while being creative and personable
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail
  • Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to assist guests up to 265lbs from the Zipline cables (with rescue assist equipment)
  • Have full range of motion and the ability to hike, climb, rappel, and assist guests at heights
  • Must have evening and weekend availability and flexible weekday availability
  • Must be able to perform all job functions for long periods of time in all weather conditions on the ground and/or at heights
  • Be able to attend and pass site specific zipline course training (if required)

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Candidates must have the physical capability to maneuver themselves as well as assist and accommodate participants throughout the course, including rescue scenarios if needed
  • Must be able to walk, stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to work at various heights
  • Must have full range of overhead arm motions and full hand dexterity
  • Requires visual acuity and the ability to hear clearly in an outdoor environment
  • Must have a strong upper body to pull self and be able to pull and push participants weighing up to 265 lbs along each cable and platform's incline (if required)
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular and continuous basis

  • Work Environment:
    Each Adventure Tech is required to work in a fast-paced, physical, social, and team oriented work environment. The majority of the work is conducted in climates from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, in the wind, rain and sun.

    Hours:
    This position can require full time (30-40 hours a week) during the high season (Late Spring & Summer) and abbreviated hours during the shoulder seasons.
    **If candidate is seeking more than 20 hrs. of employment per week, weekend shifts will be required**
    Hours of employment are dependent on business demands.

    Training:
    Onsite training for course certification will be conducted over two days.

    High Trek Summer Day Adventure Camp Counselor

  • High Trek Adventures located in Paine Field Community Park is currently seeking applicants for the position of Summer Camp Counselor. This position requires outgoing, adventurous, and safety conscious individuals. Our camp counselors will be responsible for communicating, watching, guiding, overseeing and working with our campers. High Trek summer camp goals are to facilitate learning in fun and creative ways while ensuring a safe environment for campers in various camps throughout the summer. Our Counselors will go above and beyond to encourage and inspire, work with fellow staff and become an integral part of the High Trek team. This is an active outdoor position that can either be a full time or part time position.

    High Trek summer camps will cover two areas, sports and STEM. Counselors will facilitate learning during our STEM activities like working with levels, pulleys, compasses and tying knots, to name a few. During the sports camps, counselors will be helping campers explore and play both traditional games such as soccer, badminton and Alaskan chicken ball, as well as non-traditional games like snookball, decathlon and archery. Counselors will teach proper warm-up, exercising techniques, and rules of the game.

    Position: Summer Camp Counselor
    Starting wage $14 - $15/hr
    Job Type: Full time/Part time

    Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise groups of children up to 10 per group
  • Setting up for camp in the AM
  • Cleaning up after camp in the PM
  • Facilitate camp activities
  • Provide leadership and supervision during activities
  • Give safety instructions and provide a safe environment for youth to learn while having fun
  • Maintain grounds for the Ropes Course site
  • Counselors may have the opportunity to be cross trained in other areas of the business, if desired
  • Other duties as assigned

    Adventure Summer Camp Director

    High Trek Adventures Camp Director
    Position focus: Summer Camp and Youth Groups
    Role Reports to: High Trek Adventures General Manager
    Full Time Seasonal Position

    This Assistant Manager position at High Trek Adventures will share oversight of our adventure park with a focus being on the Summer camps, youth groups, youth Team Building and custom events. Assistant Managers at High Trek will provide a range of services from Customer service, reservations, staffing, maintaining our site, leading programing, and maintaining our exceptional safety record. Summer Camps will refer to Camps that are hosted and managed completely by High Trek and Youth Groups include camps and groups like the YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other external organizations that will be bringing groups to the venue.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    General Duties:
  • Work as a team with the Course General Manager and other management to create a fun and safe environment for staff and participants
  • Work with other management staff to ensure proper coverage and safety
  • Respond to customer phone and email inquiries, creating quotes as needed
  • Book customer and group events
  • Use Point Of Sale system
  • Understand and enforce waiver requirements
  • Customer Care - Provide a great experience every time
  • Ensure all customers and staff members are adhering to the company Policies and Safety Protocols
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for staff and participants
